Understanding Gauge

The secret to a great fitting knitted garment is swatching. In this class we will discuss how to knit a good swatch and measure gauge. You will learn how to get accurate gauge measurements, ideal blocking techniques, and how to use your measurements to make sure your next garment fits the way you want.

Prerequisites : This class is appropriate for those intermediate knitters who have finished smaller accessories such as hats and scarves and are ready to try making a sweater.

Materials : Measuring tape, pen/pencil, and you are welcome to bring any swatches or a pattern of your choice (not required).
