People typically associate sweaters with snow or falling digits. But in reality a sweater is just a knit item, cardigan, pullover, that can be made in any weight or any fiber content. I love three or four season sweaters. My closet is full of Andrea Mowry’s So Faded. I have made it in fingering weight wool and fingering weight cotton.
Until recently I never made a pair of mittens. What changed? The coalescence of two events. We are launching a new charity crafting initiative and mittens are on the list of donations for one charity. Seemed simple enough. But what really jumpstarted my knitting (I can make a pretty quick hat after all), was the snow event. Trying to clear off your car with fingerless mitts just isn’t fun.
Spring is a mindset more than a season. The real spring can be rainy, cold, windy and damp. The spring of my imagination is full of bright colors and flowering trees. In honor of that vision, I have decided to rework the fabulous Nightshift Shawl by Andrea Mowry.
